Explaining God’s Grace

What Jesus did for us on the Cross is the very essence of God’s Grace being displayed for us all to see and receive. The Gospel Message is so simple that even a child can understand it and in fact Jesus tells us that we must come to Him as little children. So why then is it so difficult for some to accept God’s Grace? I believe it is because of the lack of willingness on the part of some, perhaps even for most people to repent. The very first step in a person receiving salvation through Christ is to repent. Yet far too many are unwilling to take that first step. They insist on hanging on to their sin, refusing to let it go. In this sermon I address this condition and the need to allow God to deal with our sin and to receive His Grace through the Lord Jesus Christ.

God’s spirit came down into the flesh of a man so that He could die. God is spirit and cannot die but in the flesh and blood of Jesus Christ He could and did. Christianity is about believing that God can and will forgive you for sinning against Him. Christianity is the only religion where God invites people to His Kingdom through grace and not good works. Good works mean nothing to God as far as salvation is concerned. Many people who don’t believe in forgiveness through Christ do so because they are not willing to give up their life style of sin and they don’t think that they need too.
