Discouragement in this life in inevitable. However, Christians have a helper to see them through it. Unfortunately when discouragement does come, and it will come, many people give in to discouragement because they lack discipline and self-control. We must be determined in our faith in God by submitting ourselves to Him through obedience. It’s only in our faith in Him that we can overcome discouragement. Satan uses discouragement to offset our walk with the Lord.
Submission to God is key to resisting Satan and the discouragement he tries to fill us up with. Submission is NOT easy, it takes God’s Holy Spirit.
Of course an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Or so the saying goes. In that case we must be positive – look for the good, not the bad, and talk optimistically. By doing so we win over discouragement.
