Key Verse:
Romans 12:2 (NKJV)
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

God is a personal God. He is very interested in us and He desires to make a change in us so that we in turn can make an impact on other for Christ. In order to do that, God must transform us.

I. God Transforms Our HEARTS.

Psalm 51:10-12 (NKJV)
Create in me a clean heart, O God,

The first thing God desires to do in our lives is to give us a “heart transplant”. He wants to take our hardened hearts and transform it into a new one that seeks after Him. It is God who opens our hearts in order that we may hear Him calling us.

Acts 16:14 (NKJV)
Now a certain woman named Lydia heard us. She was a seller of purple from the city of Thyatira, who worshiped God. The Lord opened her heart to heed the things spoken by Paul.

II. God Transforms Our WILLS.

Philippians 2:13 (NKJV)
for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure.

When God rules in our hearts we naturally desire to do His Will and not our own.

Psalm 37:4 (NKJV)
Delight yourself also in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

In order to delight ourselves in God, we must be OBEDIENT to Him by doing HIS will. In turn, our obedience will lead us to the desires of our hearts. These desires are a side effect of doing God’s Will! When we delight ourselves in the Lord, our wills line up with His Good and Perfect Will. Jesus taught us to pray for the Fathers Will.

Matthew 6:10 (NKJV)
Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven.

III. God Transforms Our MINDS.

Ephesians 4:23 (NKJV)
and be renewed in the spirit of your mind,

Our minds must be renewed. We must unlearn what the World has taught us and have faith in the teachings of Christ! If we are to think like God thinks, then we must think about the same things that He thinks about!

Philippians 4:8 (NKJV)
Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.

Unfortunately the World, Satan and even ourselves occupy our minds with concerns and anxious thoughts that choke the Word of God.

Mark 4:19 (NKJV)
and the cares of this world, the deceitfulness of riches, and the desires for other things entering in choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful.

God begins His transformation in us within our hearts.  Once God has the attention of our hearts, our will is no longer our own but His. When we think spiritually, we see the world in His eyes and we live in spiritual victory over the Flesh.
