Key Verse:
Luke 24:15 (ESV)
While they were talking and discussing together, Jesus himself drew near and went with them.

When Jesus goes with us, it’s a life changing experience and one that empowers the Christian to do God’s Work in this World.

I. When Jesus Goes with Us: There is a NEW level of FELLOWSHIP.

Matthew 18:20 (ESV)
For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them.”

When Christ goes with us, anxiety leaves us!

Philippians 4:6-7 (ESV)
6 do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. 7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Church is one place where Jesus goes with us. We should take coming to church very seriously. God does!

Hebrews 10:24-25 (ESV)
24 And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works,
25 not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.

There is strength in numbers! Satan knows this and wants to separate Christians from one another.

Matthew 18:20 (ESV)
For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them.”

When we worship, God Himself will come and fill you with His Holy Presence!

Psalm 34:7 (ESV)
The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him, and delivers them.

II. When Jesus Goes with Us: There is an Abiding Peace Within.

John 14:27 (ESV)
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.

The world is filled with chaos but Christ will give you a peace that surpasses the storms of life.

Mark 4:39 (ESV)
And he awoke and rebuked the wind and said to the sea, “Peace! Be still!” And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.

The Peace of Christ can calm any storm whether its outside of you or WITHIN YOU!

Matthew 26:40 (ESV)
And he came to the disciples and found them sleeping. And he said to Peter, “So, could you not watch with me one hour?

People often abandon us in our hour of need, but Christ will never leave us. He will always be there to calm our souls.

Matthew 11:28-30 (ESV)
28 Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”

III. When Jesus Goes with Us: There is an Obligation to Tell Others.

Mark 16:15 (ESV)
And he said to them, “Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation.

God does NOT suggest that we tell others, He commands it! If we truly believe then we will tell others about Jesus And His Light will be OUR LIGHT!

Matthew 5:14-16 (ESV)
14 “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden.
15 Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house.
16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.

We must not be afraid for He is with us:

Matthew 28:20 (ESV)
And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

If you want Jesus to go with you, you must seek Him!

Matthew 6:33 (ESV)
But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

God calls us to Him and if we answer the call He shall go with us in Christ!

2 Timothy 1:8-9 (ESV)
8 Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony about our Lord, nor of me his prisoner, but share in suffering for the gospel by the power of God,
9 who saved us and called us to a holy calling, not because of our works but because of his own purpose and grace, which he gave us in Christ Jesus before the ages began,
