Introduction:
The birth of Christ brought more than just another person into the world. It brought hope! Christ is the Hope of the world and if he had never been born, the world would have been left in dark despair.

I. CHRIST WAS BORN TO SAVE US FROM SIN.

1 Timothy 1:15
The saying is trustworthy and deserving of full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am the foremost.

A. God had to become flesh in order to die.

Hebrews 2:9
But we see him who for a little while was made lower than the angels, namely Jesus, crowned with glory and honor because of the suffering of death, so that by the grace of God he might taste death for everyone.

John 1:14
And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.

B. Christ is the living, breathing, perfect sacrifice provided by God, provided of God and Who is God, to be our payment to Him for our sins. He is the Lamb of God.

John 1:29
The next day he saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, “Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!

II. CHRIST WAS BORN TO BE A KING AND BEAR WITNESS TO THE TRUTH.

John 18:37
Then Pilate said to him, “So you are a king?” Jesus answered, “You say that I am a king. For this purpose I was born and for this purpose I have come into the world—to bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth listens to my voice.”

A. Christ is King of all Kings.

Luke 1:32-33
32 He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. And the Lord God will give to him the throne of his father David,
33 and he will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of his kingdom there will be no end.”

III. CHRIST WAS BORN TO BE A LIGHT IN THE WORLD.

John 12:46
I have come into the world as light, so that whoever believes in me may not remain in darkness.

A. Christ brings light to the world, illuminating the truth and love of God for all to see! He is the beacon of hope for all Mankind.

B. Those who believe in Jesus are given His Light to shine unto others.

IV. CHRIST WAS BORN TO DO THE WILL OF HIS FATHER.

For I have come down from heaven, not to do my own will but the will of him who sent me.

A. Jesus kept His Eye on God the Father and obeyed Him perfectly.

John 5:19
So Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of his own accord, but only what he sees the Father doing. For whatever the Father does, that the Son does likewise.

B. Christians are to do likewise.

V. CHRIST WAS BORN TO JUDGE THE WORLD.

John 9:39
Jesus said, “For judgment I came into this world, that those who do not see may see, and those who see may become blind.”

A. We will all stand in front of the judgment seat of Christ Jesus.
