The Lord’s Prayer

KEY VERSE:
Matthew 6:9-13 (ESV)
9 Pray then like this: “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. 10 Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. 11 Give us this day our daily bread, 12 and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. 13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

INTRODUCTION:
God desires communion with us. But there is a right way to pray and a wrong way to pray. Just like there is a wrong way and right way to talk with people. Jesus in these verses tells us the approach we are to take when praying to God the Father. The Lord’s Prayer is NOT something that we recite verbatim, but rather a formula for which we are to pray. But even the most heart felt prayer will not reach the ears of God unless we are Saved first by Jesus.
