►Satan is not the opposite of God—He is NOT God nor an anti-god. Satan is a created being, having been created by God as His most powerful angelic helper. Satan is an angel who rebelled against God.

►Satan at first was Perfect, Wise and Righteous – Pride Caused Satan to FALL

►7 Tactics that Satan Uses (THE 7 D’s):
1.    Division: Satan wants to separate you from those you love and those who love you
2.    Deception: Satan is the Father of ALL lies.
3.    Doubt: Satan wants you to question God’s word and His goodness.
4.    Discouragement: Makes you look at your problems rather than God.
5.    Diversion: Makes the wrong things seem attractive so you want them more than the right things.
6.    Defeat: Makes you feel like a failure so you don’t even try.
7.    Delay: Makes you put off something so it never gets started or completed.

►Ten Practical Rules to Resist Satan
1.    “You must believe Satan really DOES exists.”
Jesus SPOKE of Satan
Luke 10:18
18 He replied, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven.

2.    “Do not forget that the Satan is very intelligent and clever.”
Genesis 3:1
Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the LORD God had made. He said to the woman, “Did God really say, ‘You must not eat from any tree in the garden’?”

3.    “Do not forget that the Satan is a tempter.”
Genesis 3:5
5 “For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”

4.    “Be (always) vigilant in the eyes and the heart.”

5.    “Be strong in spirit and virtue.”

6.    “Tireless prayer.”
1 Thessalonians 5:17
17 pray continually;

7.     Take time to praise GOD and to Adore Him
Psalm 146:1-2
1 Praise the LORD.
Praise the LORD, O my soul.
2 I will praise the LORD all my life;
I will sing praise to my God as long as I live.

8.    Spend time ready and studying God’s Word.
Joshua 1:8
8 Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.

9.    “Remembering Christ’s victory over temptation. Remembering man’s sharing in that victory.”
Hebrews 4:15 (New International Version)
15For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet was without sin.

10.    “Be humble and love mortification.”

Romans 8:13
13 For if you live according to the sinful nature, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live,

Philippians 2:3-11
3 Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. 4 Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others. 5 Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus: 6 Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, 7 but made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant,  being made in human likeness. 8 And being found in appearance as a man,  he humbled himself and became obedient to death— even death on a  cross! 9 Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, 10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11 and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

► Satan is always looking for a person to TEMPT:
1 Peter 5:8-9
8Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.
9Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kind of sufferings.

► Submission to GOD is the ONLY way to defeat SATAN:
James 4:7 (New International Version)
7Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

Luke 4:1-13 (New International Version)
The Temptation of Jesus
1Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and was led by the Spirit in the desert, 2where for forty days he was tempted by the devil. He ate nothing during those days, and at the end of them he was hungry.
3The devil said to him, “If you are the Son of God, tell this stone to become bread.”
4Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man does not live on bread alone.'”
5The devil led him up to a high place and showed him in an instant all the kingdoms of the world. 6And he said to him, “I will give you all their authority and splendor, for it has been given to me, and I can give it to anyone I want to. 7So if you worship me, it will all be yours.”
8Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God and serve him only.'”
9The devil led him to Jerusalem and had him stand on the highest point of the temple. “If you are the Son of God,” he said, “throw yourself down from here. 10For it is written:
” ‘He will command his angels concerning you
to guard you carefully;
11they will lift you up in their hands,
so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.'”

Psalm 91:11,12
12Jesus answered, “It says: ‘Do not put the Lord your God to the test.'[d]”

► We are NEVER to TEST GOD:
Deuteronomy 6:16 (New International Version)
16 Do not test the LORD your God as you did at Massah.

► Satan will try again:
13When the devil had finished all this tempting, he left him until an opportune time.
