Who is the Holy Spirit?
1. The Holy Spirit is GOD.
John 4:24
God is spirit,
2. The Holy Spirit is a person. That person is God.
3. The Holy Spirit is a member of the Trinity.
See Mark 1:10-11
4. The Holy Spirit is God living in and among Believers.
5. The Holy Spirit is God at work in Believers.
The Bible teaches that the Father is God, that Jesus is God, and that the Holy Spirit is God. The Bible also teaches that there is only one God. This is know as the Trinity. The Trinity is one God existing in three Persons. Therefore, each member of the Trinity is God.
The Holy Spirit convicts of sin and wrong doing. However, many fail to respond to His reproof and continue to practice their sinful ways. Unless they repent, they are doomed to eternal death. When the Holy Spirit reproves us for wrong words, thoughts, deeds, and actions, we must ask for God’s forgiveness and cleansing through Christ.
Key Verse:
Acts 2:2-4 NIV
2 Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. 3 They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. 4 All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.
