KEY VERSE:
Matthew 7:21-23 (ESV)
21 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22 On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ 23 And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’
INTRODUCTION:
Still continuing His Sermon on the Mount, Christ gives yet another warning. This time he warns that not everyone who professes Him is actually going to be Saved, but rather these people are lost souls who fool themselves and others into believing they are God’s Children.
Those who falsely profess Christ, never turn from their sinful nature. They remain in their sin by never acknowledging Jesus as the true Savior. They remain in their Sin by their belief in their own works rather than believing in the Work of Christ.
