Key Verse:
Psalm 142:4 (ESV)
Look to the right and see: there is none who takes notice of me; no refuge remains to me; no one cares for my soul.

Life can present many challenges. Some are so difficult and puzzling, that we may question if God even cares about our problems. Satan is often behind these negative and false thoughts about God.

I. God Cares When Our Spirit Faints Within Us.   Psalm 143:4 (ESV) Therefore my spirit faints within me; my heart within me is appalled.

There are times when we feel we just can not go on and that no one cares… Not even God. But He does!

Isaiah 49:13 (ESV)
Sing for joy, O heavens, and exult, O earth; break forth, O mountains, into singing! For the Lord has comforted his people and will have compassion on his afflicted.

With every trial of life, Satan lies to us. He says, “This time God is NOT with you! He doesn’t care what happens to you!” But God says…

Deuteronomy 31:8 (ESV)
It is the Lord who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.”

Satan may counter with another lie and say, “Give up! Their is no hope!”

Galatians 6:9 (ESV)
And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.

Satan wants you to be faint of heart so that:

    • You give up on God.
    • You give up on church.
    • You give up on obeying God and fall into Sin.
    • You give up spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ (service to God).

II. God Cares When Our Path Becomes Lonely.

Psalm 68:5-6 (ESV)
5 Father of the fatherless and protector of widows is God in his holy habitation.
6 God settles the solitary in a home; he leads out the prisoners to prosperity, but the rebellious dwell in a parched land.

Christians are never so alone that God is not with them. He full fills every emotional need we have.

1 Peter 5:6-7 (ESV)
6 Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you,
7 casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.

God sees and cares about our loneness… Psalm 38:9 (ESV) O Lord, all my longing is before you; my sighing is not hidden from you.

Satan wants you to be lonely so that:

    • He can cause you to be  depressed.
    • You seek out ungodly people and things to feel the void.

III. God Cares When We Are Brought Low.

Psalm 73:2 (ESV)
But as for me, my feet had almost stumbled, my steps had nearly slipped.

Things can get us down, but God lifts us up!

2 Timothy 4:16-18 (ESV)
At my first defense no one came to stand by me, but all deserted me. May it not be charged against them! But the Lord stood by me and strengthened me,

God can reach into the deepest pits of life and pull you out!

Psalm 40:2 (ESV)
He drew me up from the pit of destruction, out of the miry bog, and set my feet upon a rock, making my steps secure.

Christians are to help others out of their pits.

Romans 15:1-2 (ESV)
1 We who are strong have an obligation to bear with the failings of the weak, and not to please ourselves.
2 Let each of us please his neighbor for his good, to build him up.

Satan wants you to be brought low so that:

    • He can discourage you.
    • He can give you feelings of unworthiness.
    • He can stop your Good Works.

IV. God Cares When We Are Lost.

John 3:16 (ESV)
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.

The Lord cares for us and He cares about us!

Psalm 34:15 (ESV)
The eyes of the Lord are toward the righteous and his ears toward their cry.

Conclusion:
Do you care about God?
